Compression fittings & road vibration

I replaced the original 1977 Moen kitchen faucet with a new faucet. The original faucet had copper pipes that were soldered to the original 3/8 copper tubing. Because it was all copper, it was pretty solid and needed no support brackets. The new faucet has flexible tubes that screw in to compression fittings. I cut the copper tubing and installed 2 compression fittings. I curled up the flexible inlet hoses and connected everything and there are no leaks. However, I'm wondering if road vibration is going to be a problem down the road. I'm thinking of purchasing some strapping and screwing it into the underside of the counter and using it to support the two 3/8 copper pipes with rubber to prevent rubbing against the pipes. What do you suggest?

I think that strapping the rigid copper is a good idea. Not so much for road vibration but more so for movement (flexing beyond vibration). This stress on the soldered joints could weaken them.

Can zip ties be used?

I could probably use zip ties to secure the coiled hoses to the sink drain pipes as they are coiled in between the 2 sink drains and are resting on the trap.

I ended up installing a wood brace and neoprene cushioned clamps to keep the copper in place at the transition point.

Anything that can vibrate, rub or move in any way will eventually cause you problems. It may be a little more work to secure all pipes, wires etc but well worth it in the long run

I secured the piping to the underside of the kitchen counter and the connections are now vibration free.Click image for larger version
