Water pump noise almost completely gone...

After trying a number of non-solutions, I bought some of the really small shock cords and some eyelet type screws. I removed all the screws from the pump and the clamps and then install an eyelet front and back of the pump as close to the wall as possible. I then used a larkshead to attach the shock cord to each eyelet and then put the shock cord hooks through the screw holes on the pump base. I then used 2 more shock cords to pull the pump down a bit so that it touches nothing. It is so much quieter now. I hate that thing. I'll try to get some pictures.

Same concept as used on high-end condenser microphones to isolate sources of vibration that carry through to recordings...except in your case you're eliminating the pump's vibrations from being amplified by the walls of your AS. Good thinking!

Yep, it seemed like it was shaking the entire closet it is mounted under. I tried to post a video but it wouldn't work.

Mine is on carpet. I hardly hear anything but a slight hum.

Excellent NVH work. Isolation is the best defense against noise.

We used scrap decking material from windsurf boards--comes with sticky back so easy to apply, and it's waterproof in case of a leak in water carrying areas. Found that sometimes it's the connecting water tubes that are vibrating, rather than the pump itself.

to me, it is sad that for so much money on a unit like an AS, the owner has to do something that the manufacturer should improve/fix.

water pump

Glad for you fix. ( 1979 Excell motorhome) I had a slight noise pump, but also had two pumps to freeze and burst. I kept heat in the camper but the pump was freezing thru the foor from the outside. I put a 1" block of styrofoam and remounted. Now quite and no freezing thru the floor.

After one night of no water hookup, the wife decided I would do something to quiet down that silly onboard water pump. Thanks for the suggestions ! As soon as I get home from this trip.
