Red face Water heater - can't find temp control

I have a 7 month old Atwood G6A-8E hot water heater that was installed by an Airstream dealer. It is making the water too hot. I need to turn down the temperature control but I can't find the dial or lever to do that with. It is a electronic ignition. I've included a picture of the whole thing and a close up of the control, and if anyone can tell me where the temperature control is, I'd appreciate it. Unfortunately, the documentation that came with it, is no help. Thanks!

There is not one. Since you have a very limited quantity of hot water it needs to be really hot to last any amount of time. THis is not your 40,50,60 gallon house water heater.

Thanks!

That would definitely explain why we couldn't find one. Thanks a lot for your reply!

What? They had a temp control 30 years ago. Here is a shot of the one on the Minuet. What you say makes sense however, with product liablity as it is...

The DSI units have no thermostats, but the standing-pilot units do. Our brand-new 10 gallon standing pilot model has a thermostat.

thanks for posting pix danno, they usually help with the answers...

we've covered this issue in another thread too...

which includes links to the manufacturer's online info....

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f445...hot-38192.html

i really wish the electric ignition model water heater had a temp control...

so it could be set LOW for freeze protection usage.

of course they'd prefer we just drain the tank, which is what i do.

seems this model relies on a temp/pressure release valve and we all get the same temp water.

cheers

water heater adj thermostat

Atwood now has an adjustable thermostat that can be installed in about 10 minutes. Most RV stores should have them or can order them.
