We have a 1976 Argosy that we received as a gift, after my father-in-law passed, for my Daughter's traveling softball games. Itis still in really good condition,(he babied it.)
When finally getting the opportunity to use its entire hook ups, I found out that the sewer coupling did not fit.
Does Air Stream/Argosy use a "non-standard size drain valve?
If it's the same as my '74; it is equipped with Thetford fittings. Which are still available. As mentioned there are adaptors available to change it to something else. You will have to adapt from Thetford to what ever you choose to use. The Thetford fittings are commonly called Bayonet.
Your '76, as well as my '77 Excella and '86 Sovereign, uses Thetford size fittings which are a little larger than Valterra fittings common today. I have found Thetford fittings at Camping World as well as some RV dealers. I have a set of them as well as a Valterra adapter which allows you to use the common Valterra size. Hope this helps.
