New tank location

Hi, I have a 64' Sovereign, undergoing a ground up restoration/retrofit. It has reached a stage where a decision needs to be made about the water tanks. There will be a fresh water tank and a grey water tank. At this stage, the toilet is to be a cassette type. Does anyone have any helpful advice to share on where a good practical place to put these tanks. I am musing of getting custom made tanks to put within the floor space near the axles. Is this a good idea? Is it practical?

I wish you all the best with your restoration. What size is your trailer? I am in the middle of designing a restoration on a vintage and right now I am working on three tanks, fresh, grey and black in a trailer that never had a grey. With limited space between frame rails I am planning at putting the fresh water tank under the bed on top of the floor and the grey and black within the frame work. Keep th trailer balanced is critical when deciding where to place things. Once you have an idea od LP tanks and fresh water you want the grey to be as close to the axle as possible but at the same time in a position to keep the unit balanced.

Thanks for that, the sovereign is 30', and she looks better everyday. I did wonder about the balance, and considered putting smaller tanks fore and aft of the axles, and coupling them. I understand they would need to be vented separately. Do you know if vent pipes can run horizontally for a lenth? And what about you, what sort of Airstream are you bringing back from the brink.
