Missing my lugs

Hi - I'm a new AS owner (1991 Limited) and have been going through the systems. To my surprise, the PO ground all of the sewer discharge connection lugs off and rigged up some home made work-around for failed valves in the black water tank. I think he tried to put a Valterra valve on and found it would not fit - thus the creativity. Is there a sleeve or something more permanent that I can use to fasten the Valterra valve? The OD of the discharge pipe id 3.75 inches, forgot to measure the ID but typical 3" plumbing supplies may not fit.

If you have stub pipes sticking out you should be able to use a fernco coupling.Dave

If you mean the black rubber device with clamps on both ends, that is what he tried. He stuck 3" pvc in one end and cemented the valterra fitting to it. The other end slides over the discharge pipe but is quite loose - I dont think it stable enough to travel with in place. Is there some other fernco product you were referring to?

If you have enough stub....

On the '78 Sovereign I busted a couple of the lugs - just old, worn out, and degraded by the elements - a bit like me.

I had enough room to cut the Thetford Female Adapter off and glue a Valterra X Female 3" sewer connection directly to the stub - if you have 2" or so of stub it should work.

Great - I will see if I have enough room. I did not know that the piece with the lugs on it was an add-on to std 3" pipe. I have a camping world 20 Mi away and they should have the parts.

Thanks - if it does not work I'll ask for more help.
