Fitting on fresh water tank leaking

Had a drip under the fresh water tank on our 2010 FC 23fb. The fresh water tank is leaking where the fitting is welded to the tank for the inlet to the pump. The pipe threads are not leaking. It is between the tank and the fitting itself. I did a search and found some people have used an epoxy that has sealed but was wondering if those had lasted. Has anyone ever tried rewelding the fitting with a plastic welder. Or does the tank need replacing. Just bought the trailer last Thanksgiving and trying to work through a few issues. I have a farm shop and can do most anything I want in there so am planning on pulling the tank out for the fix.

Fitting on fresh water tank leaking

What are the other fitting for. Is there enough material to use a pipe tap in the broken fitting and a plastic pipe nipple which could be screwed in with some PVC or ABS glue that would in effect weld the nipple in?
