Aluminum Water Hose
For those of you who just have to have aluminum everything for your Airstream you can now include the water hose:
The Only Armored, Kink Free, Drinkable Water Hose on the Market | Armadillo Hose Products
Just back from the Tampa RV Super Show and brought one back with me. Although the guy told me it had been around for several years this is the first I heard of it. Needless to say I have no idea how durable it is; have no interest in the company and know nothing else about them.
There are two things I can tell you for sure:
1. When you hook it up water does flow through it.
2. It looks FANTASTIC hooked up to the Airstream.
So if aluminum all the way is your thing, this is for you.

As I believe I've mentioned before, I went to my local rubber products shop and had them make up some fresh water hoses out of vacuum hose - which won't easily 'kink' when in storage, use, etc...
They attached real brass, machined hose ends (not those cheapo 'rolled' thread type ends you find on 'RV' hoses!)...
I had (5) 10 ft hoses made up so I can attach only the lengths I need - I think I paid about $12-$15 per hose...
These hoses look very similar to the 'aluminum hoses' shown above - except the coil is a lighter color...
I guess I should have jumped on the band wagon and marketed my version last year...

Ray, is that vacuum hose rated as acceptable for potable water?

Re: Al's original post. If anyone has ever had a fresh water hose bust while being away and then finding their trailer flooded when they get back, these seem like a great idea! Fresh water hoses seem to be much less durable than our regular garden hoses.

A $100 hose?
I would rather have one of the 120 volt heated hoses for winter use.

Aage...Yes, the plastic vacuum hose is rated safe to use in the food processing industry - don't have the specs, but their info indicated so...
I really set out to find fresh water hoses that wouldn't kink when coiled for storage, AND, I wanted heavy, brass, machined ends that could be tightened into other connectors without 'stripping', as the rolled threads of the cheapo hoses often do!
Have you ever tried to thread your hose into a plastic, inline filter and have the hose not tighten properly, or just keep turning as it get tight!
I use quick disconnects on the FW hoses, and many times the regular hose ends with those shallow threads would strip when tightened...Most RV and garden hoses have thin shell ends that are just plain CRAP, IMHO...
I've cured all that with the hoses I had made up - hopefully I'll never need another fresh water hose again...
Here's a similar product: Untitled Document
