Small Awnings
We are looking for recommendations for small add-on awnings for our 25' Safari. We are looking for something that is easy to use and holds up well. Thanx

Zip-Dee
Look at the Zip Dee web site. They make awnings for any size window that you have on your Airstream and are found as OEM equipment an most Airstreams.

We ordered Zip-Dees for our street side and rear end window through our dealer. I'm taking the "Changes" back to the dealer next week end to leave it and have them installed. They are the same charcoal color as the curb side awning from the factory.

awnings
Min,
That's what we want to do -- this month we are getting a lid for our truck bed so can't get the awnings yet. We can hardly wait, tho, to get Zip Dees on street side (whole length) and rear. Ours is the charcoal tweed color too. Its gonna look cool

We travel a lot to Florida and plan to continue those type trips in the future so we wanted to be able to block as much sun as possible. Instead of a sky light, we had a total of three fantastic fans put in our 30 footer. They let in a good bit of light, but since they are smaller and tinted, the amount of heat gain is less than the sky lights would have been. Less light, but less heat gain. I'm looking forward to having the new awnings on our Safari before our October trip to central Florida in about 4-1/2 weeks.

Here is a link to a step-by-step Zip-Dee install guide from the install I did on my rig.

The street-side and rear awnings were the big add-on we did last year. They did it for us at the factory. They REALLY help keep it cooler in the summer sun by reducing the amount of direct sun-light that comes in the windows.
In retrospect, we should have ordered them as an option when we ordered our AS.
Good luck!

Thanks, I couldn't have the nerve to do it myself. Drill a hole in my Airstream, not me. Drill a hole in my own tooth, well, ok. As I have said many times, I have two left hands (I'm right handed) and they are both all thumbs!
