Need awning

My unit had no awning, not the arms nothing.

Of the 3 A&E, Carefree or Zee which one is the most common and trouble free.

I have a Zip Dee on my new Airstream. It seems it is the most common and the one that has been factory equipment for a long time so I kind of think Airtream must feel it is the best. After ordering two for the tail end and road side, I certainly don't think they are the cheapest.

Having owned trailers with awnings from different manufacturers, the installation of a Zip Dee is more than just a purchase; it is an investment. They operate flawlessly and the company stands by their product 100%. Sometimes the investment for awnings "all around" could be more then the total value of your trailer. When I needed a new awning for my '74, it helped me decide if I wanted to put 25% of the trailer value into the awning. If you use the trailer, are going to hold on to it for a while, I would not question going with the Zip Dee.

I would agree with general positives for Zip Dee, but read this post and you'll see the company backup may not be like it used to.

A&E is no longer an option they have stoped making the curved arms that our Airstream's need. But I have to say that my A&E is as trouble free as any of the Zip Dee's I have seen.

Just my $.02
