Rear Zip Dee for '86 measurement?

I picked up a rear window Zip Dee from Colaw's last week. It measures 54", but I talked to the Zip Dee people & they said I need a 47" one. My son can cut down the tube for me, but I'm not sure if the fabric measures 47", or the entire width of the Zip Dee, including the arms, is 47". I plan on either cutting down the fabric or sewing an awning to match the others on my trailer (this one is plain blue & my others are striped) Does anyone have an 80's rear Zip Dee they can measure for me? I hate to be a pest to the Zip Dee people, since I didn't buy the awning from them! The other option would be to leave it the width it is & just use a hook in the middle rather than the two arms to hold it open. I'm assuming they use the arms because the window is a fire escape? With it being too wide, the little cups that the arms set in can't be mounted to the window frame. Any help is appreciated!

Becky,
If it can wait until Thursday I can get you the width of the rear awning fabric on our '87.

I don't think you would be bothering the Zip Dee folks. They have always been most helpful when I have called them regarding awning questions.

Thanks, Carl!

I've already shortened the roller & made a new awning. The awning cost me $23 to make! I'll mount the awning when I finish my polishing job. Thanks again!

I ordered a new set from Zipdee also.
The center of rivets on the bottom mounting bracket was what they wanted from me.
That also is the width of the fabric.
You are correct on the Fire Escape.
They had a stock distance that did not fit what I thought was needed, so I ordered as if I had never seen one before.
Just be sure you can open the window with the awning out.
