Question Installing a Zip Dee awning

I'll be picking up and installing a Zip Dee awning at my inlaw's this weekend. I'll take every tool I think I'll need, and they have lots of tools there, but can someone give me a quick heads up on what is involved with the installation. What tools will I need? Any suggestions to make the installation easier?

Thanks,

Grant Davidson

Hi there, I recently installed a Zip Dee on my 62 Overlander. The process is way easier than it looks. One item I learned that it very important. This happened on my 62 but may be pertinent on the 64. When drilling holes for the rear rafter bracket (this is the upper bracket below the awning track) check where the hole will land and verify that the electrical junction box and the wires exiting it, above the shelf in the closet are not going to be hit. I hit a wire on mine, thankfully the Airstream was plugged in at the time, because I would have never known I hit it (not the safest scenerio but only my drill bit and wire where hurt). The little spark told me. I would have never known and then driven a screw through it!

Do you have the installation manual? It has the measurements on where to place the brackets. It was invaluable when I put mine on a couple of months ago. PM me if you want the directions.
