Using Airstream polishing tech for headlights?

My fellow campers...
Like many of you, I have a heavy investment in polishing gear and various forms of goo to keep my trailer looking nice. Has anyone used this stuff to buff out their TV headlights? What grades did you use?

What "stuff" are you referring too?

It's a great idea. I've seen and read to use 800 grit then 1000 grit wet sanding. Then sprayed with a clear coat. They looked new. I don't see why medium to fine polish won't do the same.

I tried using F7, and it helped a lot. I think that the problem is trying not to polish the paint job and chrome around it. Headlamps should be removed, and probably gone over with fine sandpaper first as per above.

So my verdict is: go for it if you have lots of time, and it isn't hot out!

I use a wheel and buffing compound on an angle grinder. At the slowest speed, with a very soft wheel, using the finest compound (red or maybe white), and being extremely cautious, I can avoid melting the plastic of the headlight covers, and get a pretty good result. On a 2003 model, the plastic has actually yellowed, and there’s nothing to be done about that. ITs clear, but yellow, after polishing.
