Started to polish my Motorhome!

Been lurking this section, but now I have something to post!
The clearcoat is long gone, and I have no choice but to join you all "On the Bright Side"!
Collected my basic supplies...
HF Buffer and pads...

Found a used, but good Cyclo on CL!

Now I was ready...
Its gonna be a slow and spotty job, as I have much else to restore, but I started with a storage Drawer repair. I thought it made no sense to put it back with the ugly paint still on it...

Ready to go... I noticed that this panel is labeled as being 6061 T6 Aluminum.

Compounded with G6..

After G6 with the Cyclo..

Its not perfect, has some scratches, but so much better!

Now I had to try the first piece of the Motorhome....

The PO had already stripped and sanded the front quarter... I was scared..

15 mins with the Compounder, and it was much better...

More pics, but a long way to go!

Yesterday...
I stripped the Black painted area on the front... what a pain that was!
Several layers of different types of paint!
Also, stripped another 2 panels ready to get some shine on it!
Pretty much finished the Storage Drawer. Gave the inside and outside 2 coats of Herculiner.

Keyair, did you only use the G6 and which buffer did you use the new one you purchased or the cyclo?

Only used the G6 so far... On the Drawer, I tried G6 or a foam pad on the Cyclo.
Only used the Compounder with the wool pad on the M/H so far...
Lots to do!

That was just with the Compounder and G6!
Realistily, I am not gonna chase this down to super polishing levels, but it looks so much better!
Which is more than could be said for me...
My GF, took one look and me and said... Oh, Honey...

This rear corner, and the upper bodyside took me maybe 2 hours.
Today, my body hurts... no pain no gain!

I have a long way to go, and this was a just a "feelgood job", as I had been working inside on the plumbing.
I need to get some 4" pads to go on my angle grinder for the details and corners... the big buffer is just too tricky and exhausting to hold.

I will probably go with F Nuvite or similar later, but for now just so jazzed to see it shiny where there was matt grey!

I guess these pieces belong here too, as they got the polish treatment...

Rear Utilities Cover..
Before..

Undertray, rust treated, primed and bedlinered.

Door dismounted, stripped and buffed.

Refitted

As posted elsewhere...
My Modded Sewer Vent Stacks..
As was...

One Buffed, and Modded to keep stuff, and UV out...

Fitted..

And my Fuzzy corroded Porch Light Cover...
As was...

Sanded with 320...

Half done..

Done!
