New Airstreamer needs a professional!

We are new Airstreamers! We are new to the forum and new to camping! My husband and I just "inherited" a 1977 31' Sovereign from my aunt and uncle. It has been a long time dream of ours. It however is in terrible shape. We have almost removed all the interior and the subfloor has a good bit of rot. We are afraid it will need new axles and framework as well as some bodywork to sagging rear (I understand is common for this airstream). We need a professional to help us with this. All the other stuff we want to do ourselves. Can any of you recommend anyone fair and trustworthy to do these repairs?? We live in South Georgia, close to Florida. Thanks for your help!!!

Airstream has service manuals for most of the 70 and 80 years.

That will help you to do many of the repairs yourself.

It would be better for you, if you had the correct manual, so you could decide what repairs you wanted to do and what repairs someone else can do for you.

The idea is learn what you have and go from there.

Andy

You may want to send a Private Message (PM) to: Skaterio Her husband has done a lot of excellent Airstream repair work. they are located on the North side of Atlanta, but he may have some contacts near you.

Thanks Andy for your response. We do have the original manual! I have been reading about doing many repairs ourselves, but we both feel like the frame work is over our heads. We even went to the Inland RV site and have an idea what the axles will cost and the outriggers. The site is very helpful.
