We bought a new 27’ Internatinal 18 mos ago and have just discovered mold showing through vinyl flooring from underneath. There is zero evidence of water anywhere. The area is forward under one of the twin beds. Nearest plumbing is the shower about 4 feet away. Airstream says they may have to completely gut the trailer to pull floor for repair. We waited 11 years for this trailer and the dream has turned into a nightmare. Anyone else ever been in this boat?
Yes, others have indeed experienced mold issues in their AS, especially in the subfloor. AS continues to use plywood because, presumably, it is cheaper than coosa and easier to work with than aluminum floor would be.
But the good news is that your trailer is under warranty and AS is on the hook to make it right. Imagine if you had not found out until later!
