Thankfully, I do not have that problem in the bath of my model but I do have several flip-down and flip-up door nooks in the kitchen that could use this treatment.
Not really a mod but we bought a very small (fit in your hand) Veho wireless speaker. It runs off the new stereo that has a USB! it works great and it was only $49.00! I wanted something easy and small and this little guy sounds pretty good for the money. I really wanted the Bose wirless with usb but $550.00 for the camper seemed excessive!

Photos to come, but I made a number of minor yet important mods:
1) Added a clock. ($20)
2) Added an indoor-outdoor thermometer. ($16)
3) Changed the TV and thermostat around from their stock configuration by replacing the TV mount with one that is thinner, and moving the thermostat down so the TV doesn't have to be moved to get at it. ($24 for new TV mount)
4) Not installed yet, but planning to add a bypass switch to turn on the running lights from inside the traylah in those situations when a visitor is having trouble finding the rig at night.
5) Painted the heating vents and doorbell cover so they blend in better.
I was interested to read the above post from Jammer. My 1987 Excella was fitted as standard with a clock, an inside/outside thermometer, two outside white flood-lights switchable from inside, and the outside vents were all clearcoated aluminum, matching exactly the rest of the trailer. When I fitted a TV, I did not, of course, cover up the thermostat. To my simple brain, this hardly appears to be 23 years of progress.

Hi, as most of you know Airstream uses PEX directly to the water pump, making it noisy. This is due to vibrations from the pump. To further make the noise outrageously loud, I made plywood filler boards to help keep mickey mouse out of my trailer. And this held the PEX pipes even more rigid. I wanted to buy the silencer kit, but the hoses come with straight ends and my water pump uses 90 degree angled ends. So I decided to make my own. I disconnected the pipes from the water pump. I cut the copper ring off at the out-put PEX at the 90 degree end fitting. And I cut the copper ring off at the filtered end of the filter fitting. I need one brass 1/2" connector, four hose clamps, and six feet of hose. Here's the problem: The 1/2" hose fits way to sloppy and the 3/8" hose is too tight. How can this be? Well 1/2" PEX is actually closer to 12 mm, so I decided to force the 3/8" hose onto the connectors and use hose clamps on them because the copper rings are either too small or too large. This kit, or parts, that I used cost less than $10.00 and when fully tested the noise is way down and there were no leaks.
Note: I did have to use only one copper ring; I bought a bag of rings when I bought the crimping tool for my bathroom faucet change.

That's a GREAT idea... My wife and I thought perhaps our water pump had been built with an offset cam to make it rattle so that you knew it was running.
It's so loud that you can't flush the toilet in the middle of the night without waking up your spouse, let alone anyone in the nearest campsites. Seems to me that Airstream should be paying close attention to these forums to gather ideas for refining and improving their product.
I like what you did! I've since changed out the original fold-out bed to something more like what you have. And have mounted a flat screen above where the corner cabinet was originally installed.
There are larger accumulators than the one I installed; you might want to consider one of them for a little longer time between pump operations. There appears to be enough space to mount one adjacent to the pump.
I could not insert photos for some reason today; thanks for finding and inserting them!

Hi, this has been in my mind for years and today I made it happen. We are sick and tired of not knowing if the water pump switch is in the ON position or the OFF position. Today I bought a 12 voltRED LED from Radio Shack for $2.00 and I am sooooo glad that I did. Drilling a hole in the control panel was touchy. A bit of the gray top layer of the panel lifted or changed colors slightly, but I can live with that especially now that we will know if the water pump is ON or OFF. [note: RED means it is ON]
On this last trip I decided that I need a place to put my wet, soapy sponge, before, during, and after I do the dishes; So I went to Bed Bath & Beyond and found a sponge holder and soap container all in one piece. This was about $16.00 and it also will make life in the trailer a bit easier.

Hi, very carefully; If you use a flat bladed pocket screw driver and put in at the top, in the center, and between the black bezel and the face plate, you can pry it open. There is a metal spring clip on the top and two tangs on the bottom. After you pry the top open and pull it toward you enough for the center screw to clear the bezel, it will then lift up far enough for the two bottom tangs to clear the bottom of the black bezel. The rest is disconnecting the wires. If you look at the picture showing the back side of the panel, you can see the spring clip and two tangs. I removed the black bezel, [four screws] to make clearance for the LED light. You should be able to see where I made clearance on the bezel.
