Increase clearance

Wondered if it's possible to raise the frame on our 22' '08 Safari Sport for better clearance over our Oregon backroads? Thanks JJ

Hi, buy new axles with a higher starting angle and high weight rating. $$$$$$$$

I would think if you bought new axles with weight ratings higher than your trailer requires. You would beat it to death. I've thought about trying to come up with a way to install air bags to assist a worn torsion bar system, but haven't come up with a way to attach it to the axle arm. Any one have any thoughts on this brainy (maybe crazy) idea?

Another thought about raising the trailer. Have plates made that would bolt on where your existing axles are now bolted. The plate would have to be offset to accomodate the thickness of the metal used. It would also have a set of holes like the holes in the frame of the trailer to remount the axle. If the verticle space between the holes for mounting it to the frame and the holes for mounting the axles is 3", you would get a 3" lift. If these lift plates as I'll call them require welding to get the offset. I would have a certified welder do that part. In my area there are a number of blacksmith shops that could make the plates. I don't think I would want too much lift. Not really sure if this is a good idea, just a thought.
