Water Heater Switch Issue on 2009 Flying Cloud!

Mary and I ended up spending an entire weekend without hot water because of a wire that had pulled loose from the back of the water heater switch on the restroom wall. The tech who looked at it, diagnosed and corrected the problem said I was close to losing the bathroom ceiling light also. Evidently the wires were not installed with enough slack to allow a relaxed connection. This is quite disappointing to me. This is pretty much as brand new 2009 Flying Cloud that has only been on the road approximately 1000 miles. I just hope that the person who cut these wires too short did not wire the entire trailer at Airstream on a Friday afternoon!

Anyone else have this type of problem with wiring on the newer Airstreams?

Typically, the harnesses are designed with all sorts of excess wire to allow the switches to be wired and then inserted in to the wall. If the wires were that tight, the harness must have been yanked tight from somewhere else in the trailer after the switches were installed.

I'm just now changing my queen bed to twins which requires some rewiring. I find as much as 18" of excess wire on some connections.
