Hello - 2009 Flying Cloud
We are picking up our 2009 AS 19' Flying Cloud (Bambi) on Friday and heading for the Airstream camping park near Floyd, VA. My husband and I are excited about hitting the road - weekends for now, and a couple of road trips during the year. We've been campers but we're ready for air conditioning and the cult of Airstream!

Welcome and congratulations!
Be sure to spend as much time as you need (3 hours minimum) with your dealer on pick-up day - don't leave with ANY unanswered questions. If you have access to a video camera, I'd suggest taping the whole walk-through and take close-ups.
Have the dealer hook the trailer to your TV and practice pulling it - and backing it.
Make sure EVERYTHING works before you leave and that you know how to MAKE everything work.
Many dealers will give you their cell number that you can call with questions.
Also, most of the systems (fridge, furnace, dump valves, water heater, etc.) of an AS are essentially the same as any other SOB - so don't be afraid to ask other trailer folks if you have a question - you'll find that people LOVE to show you how to do things.
We're reminiscent and envious of the day you're gonna have on Friday - best of luck!
Also, if you take a laptop camping with you, you can post here 24/7 and probably get answers to your questions in no time at all. There is always somebody online here!

welcome, as stated spend time on the walk thru with the dealer. I did not, therefore i did not know that my 28' safari had a wardrobe closet for the first two week of ownership, also did not know the sony radio was also a dvd player. Make sure you have them show you awning operation as I must have missed something as I broke the rafter bar first time i used it.

Hi neighbors! We are anxious to hear how you like the campground in Floyd and what route you take. We aren't too far away in Walnut Cove-about 20 minutes north of the airport. We have a 65 Ambassador that is a work in progress but road worthy. We will be spending Sun-Thurs at the Dan Nicholas Park in Salisbury. Hope to get to meet you-welcome to the forum!

Thanks
Thanks to all for your kind welcome to the Airstream world and the helpful advice. We'll post again after our "maiden voyage."

Welcome...
Enjoy your new baby, and make plans to attend a rally some time soon if you're able.
Regards,
Kevin

I posted our review of this all-Airstream park in the "on the road" forum. We loved it!

glad to hear you had a great time. We really enjoyed the Dan Nicholas Park, especially the grand kids.
