Questions re: installing 2nd ac unit in rear of 34' Excella
I was just told it can't be done - since "can't" is incorrect, is there anyone out there who can tell me how to overcome the bracing issue?? I know other AS have done this, I have searched in this forum but have not encountered a similar issue regarding bracing the rear opening where power fan is located to support the 2nd ac.
Any thoughts??
Thanks!

Horizontal stringers must be added and riveted to the 2 main bows that are forward and rearward of where you want to install the AC. Then 2 short stringers must be added between the stringers, and riveted to them.
Remember to also install a drain line, so that the water from the AC will not run down the sides of the trailer.
You should also install a separate "city power cable" for the second AC, as the original cable will not handle both AC's when running.

Just a quick question, what did u use for the brace on the length of the span for the AC? Did u just use the 2x4's as the bracing? Ive been told u have to add aluminum braces on the Length sides to connect to the braces that are on the width side. Confusing huh....

Do you know any one in the Dallas Texas area that can install a 2nd A/C in the bedroom of a 34' Excella 1999? Looking to install a 15,000 BTU in the bedroom.

Like several other folks have done, I used good solid 2 X 4's and cut them to size with the proper angle for the curve of the roof. I then screwd the inner and outer skin to the wood on 2" spacing between the screws. The wood was thn sealed with aluminum tape to keep moisture out.

Ya might wanna give that a second thought...
We went with an 11,000 BTU in the back and it only runs 1/2 the time of the 13,500 up front. With so much "off" time the humidity can start rising in the bedroom making it uncomfortable.
Now once the compressor kicks in it does cool off FAST!
