New AC Damaged?

I received my new AC from FamilyRV in Fla. today and there appears to be a problem.

Carrier 15k heat pump.

It has leaked oil all inside of the AC and was on the AC cover.
Oil is every where.
Also the fan blade was rammed up against the condenser fins.

The box was damaged on the front nose end of the AC.

UPS delivered it.

Any suggestions??

Don't accept damaged boxes. Your choices are with UPS now.

I got my Carrier from FamilyRV and have been pleased, but damage while shipping is beyond their control.

Best of luck!

Keep all of the boxes, call UPS and call Family RV.

Whenever you receive a box that is visably damaged and you hear broken stuff moving around inside, just refuse the package due to damage. I assume that you found this damage after opening the box (YOU DID!!!!!). In this case you call for a UPS inspector to take the package. They will either pay the claim to Family which will ship you a replacement, or deny it due to inadequate packing. If that happens it's between you and Family. And I'm sure they won't want you to complain on this list.

New AC

The oil is from inside the compressor.
The AC is toast.
File a claim against UPS for a new one.

I used to work for a UPS-competitor as a delivery guy. They made us wear steel-toed shoes so we wouldn't injure our toes...while kicking the customer's packages.
