We have a Carrier V 13,500 BTU unit that does not work. It is only about 2 years old and we are getting ready to put it out for Bulk Trash Pick-up. I thought I would check to see if anyone wanted any parts from the unit prior to pitching. It will go on Thursday of this week. I will be happy to pull any parts from it and ship them as long as you cover the shipping.

The City of Phoenix will not take an AC unit because of the freon. My bulk pickup is this week and we tried to get an old refrigerator taken and they left it this morning.

recycle

Look in your local pennysaver (free ad paper) for the scrap pickup guys. A fridge is worth about 20 bucks in scrap and they will pick it up for free!

I am going to place it out there. As you know there are always the folks that drive around and load up pickups prior to the trash guys coming around.

I hear you on that, but somehow they missed my house last night.

If you leave a $10 sign on it, they will sometimes steal it from you.

Here in Phoenix, we have bulk trash pick up once per quarter most of the stuff that could be re-used or has some scrap value, ends up gone before the trash people pick up the items. I have actually, picked up a very nice cast iron sink for one of my rental houses. Someone was re-modeling a kitchen and just thew it out. It is kind of like a free garage sale sometimes.

Ah how we miss the days of the local town dump. THat was the social spot back home when I was young. Great recycling spot before recycling was cool! I had about six tube radios "rescued" from the dump. But that was then...now you can not take stuff out of the dump...go figure
