Dometic air conditioner tripping breaker
I have a 2012 Flying Cloud that is tripping the 20A breaker after running the air conditioner for about 10 min. Can reset and it runs for another 10 min. Outside temp 88deg. Is a new problem Asquith I have run successfully in the past. Any thoughts?

What's the power supply? Are you plugged into a 30A outlet or running it from a regular 15A household outlet, etc...
Also, did you measure the voltage at the outlet or on an outlet in the trailer when the AC is running?

Are you using an extension cord other than the 30a shore power cord?

If you have checked the previous things mentioned and you are still having a problem, the unit may just need a rest overnight in order to reset it self. I only say this because that is what solved the problem when mine was doing the same thing. Of course, it only did this in Florida when the temp was 90 and the rh was 99%. I think it gibbled it self due to the humidity and we didn't have the Airstream closed up enough. That is, one or two windows were open a crack. How's that for a technical solution? Perfect. Do nothing but wait. Worked for me.

You mean it might have froze up?
Another question, is there anything else on the circuit with the AC?

Maybe, I just don't know. Same with the AC breaker. It hasn't been enough of a problem to mess around with it.

Measure the voltage on one of the outlets without the air conditioner turned on. It should be 110 to 120 VAC. Turn the air conditioner on and the voltage should not drop below 105. The air conditioner will pull excessive current if the voltage drops down to 100 VAC and that will pop the breaker. Is the breaker that is popping in the trailer or in the power supply? If the voltage is acceptable, it could be a defective breaker.

Rich, I would suggest you add a surge protector to you power cord, buy a good one. Low voltage, lightning strikes, reversed polarity, and other electrical issues can cost you a lot of money in damaged equipment. The best ones have a digital read out with error codes and a time delay before reset to let the AC equalize before restart. It lets you know if you have bad power before you plug in the trailer, mine stays online 24/7 at home and on the road.

is the water heater off or on propane?
the converter will draw more if the batteries are low.
compressors draw more power when hot.
a dirty plug or outlet can increase the amperage needed.

Since its a 2012, I'll assume its under warrentee. If so, my advice is don't mess with it, go right to a dealer and get if fixed, before you do something to void the warrentee. YMMV
