Range pilot wont light

1973 AS Sovereign.

PO owner said "dealer checked appliances and they worked"

LP tanks feel full. Gas valve turned on but pilot light won't light.
If I turn the knobs on I can hear the gas and can smell it, but still nothing will light.

Also hot water heater didn't want to light but that is farther down on my list.

There is an adjustment for the pilot light. On the bottom left of the picture is an screw that regulates how much gas goes to the pilot. Mine is turned all the way down and the pilot is turned off. I light my burners with a camping lighter.

THanks. I managed to light it with camping lighter and turned pilot all the way down. Would rather not mess with it.
