my solution....

may not work for you or most people but I removed the refer (electric) that had been installed in the place of the original and installed an under the counter small electric one. When I'm dry camping I place a frozen container of water to keep things cold. I suppose dry ice would work too. I have a chest freezer available to me in the area to keep a string of replacement bottles of ice so I was able to use my refer as a large cooler all last summer. If I occassionally moved into the campground I'd plug into 110v. I found it a little bit of a hassle but only lost some tortillas to mold once so the bottles of ice worked were fine. The old old refers had a drain in the bottom of them that piped outside so blocks of ice could be used when boomdocking.

refridgerator

I had asked this question recently and found out that this was not a problem at all. We went to Lowe's and found an efficiency sized refridgerator to replace our old Dometic fridge. When removing your fridge, you will notice a plug in from your previous fridge and it plugs right in. I can't recall the measurements, but the fridge will run right at $300 bucks. Also Home Depot carries them, but you have to order them.

I have an electric only replacement frig in my MH. I looked into replacing it with an original type but they started around $1100. I figured I'd keep what I had (since it works great) and could but alot of gas for my generator for the big difference in cost.

I have found a place that sells BRAND NEW Dometic and Norcold fridges for about half of what they cost elsewhere. I also bought a new stove/oven and a water pump from these people at about half the price of retail.
Send me a Pivate Message and I will share this information with you. It seems that I have a problem posting new threads on here.
