2003 Dometic fridge won't stop running

I noticed 3 months ago while boondocking camping in our 2003 International CCD that the fridge ran all the time while using gas. Getting ready for a camping trip next week I have been running everything on the AS to make sure its all ok for the trip. I had the AS running on ac right now here at home. It took awhile for the fridge to go on and start running, but after it did, it ran fine for two days then I unplugged the ac to the AS and the fridge kept running. This was not unusual, but usually after a few minutes of recieving no power (gas or electric) the fridge would then go off. But it still kept running, even though I had turned the fridge to "off" and lowered the temp gage to zero. Then, when I turned on the battery disconect to use, the fridge went on again! Strange. I then turned on the battery disconect to "store" and the fridge stopped. I waited all night, and just now turned on the batt disconect to use, and the fridge did not go on in the "off" postion, which is what should happen, why does this happen? Should I be concerned?
