Yellowstone trip advice

My family and I are planning a trip to Yellowstone/ Grand Teton next year and would like any advice we can get from people who have been there before. Advice about travel routes and campgrounds along the way would be great. We will be traveling from South Carolina and plan to take a month to explore. I hope to be using my refurbished 31'-76 sovereign if I can get it fixed up,If not I'll be pulling old faithful 67-24'-tradewind.Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Chris, Welcome to the forums!
Hopefully someone will chime in on your travel route, but there was a recent (Current?) thread on Yellowstone. If you do a search, you should come up with some good info. If you don't find what you want, ask back here again.
That whole Teton/Yellowstone area is one of my favorites, I've been there twice in the last 3 years - which is a lot for us. Good luck with your trip and the planning.

Ditto on the recent thread. Here's the skinny of my humble opinions:
Gros Ventre campground Grand Teton
Fishing Bridge Campground
Madison Campground

I assume you'll be coming across I 80 through Wy at some point, from there I usually take US 191 Straight into Jackson Wy, which is just outside of Grand Teton. The last town you'll hit before getting to your exit would be Rock Springs. This has the last Walmart super you'll see, and the cheapest fuel until you get to Jackson, fuel prices only increase as you get closer to the park.
One very nice dry campground is Camp Kennedy at Gros Ventre just 2 miles outside of Grand Teton. There are several campgrounds inside the parks, but each park has only 1 campground with hookups. Coulter Bay in Grand Teton, and Fishing Bridge inside Yellowstone. Both are great, but Coulter bay is nicer. It's much more wooded, and the village has a lot to offer. You may see Grizzlies at Fishing bridge, we had one in our campground, so make sure you follow the regulations concerning food. It really takes a solid week to get everything in, and appreciate it. Our big trip this year is Olympic, Ranier, and Redwoods, but I have to go to Yellowstone at least every other year. There's no place like it.

We were just there and stayed at the Fishing Bridge Park. Excellent location. Make reservations well in advance. We were there for 7 days and plan on going back. Lots of wildlife and great places to park to watch them. If you're luckey you may not have to leave the Fishing Brige Park to see a bear. No kidding.
