Thanks to those of you who were welcoming and offered suggestions on where to camp in the Thousand Island NY area this June with our 25' Safari. I'd like to hear some opinions on Reserve America, have you been satisfied with this company? Is it the only game in town for booking a spot? Do you think their fees are too high? The 2 night stay requirement fair? Is there an alternative? I know parks fill up quickly and would be hesitant to chance not having a reservation at these "premier" (what does that mean exactly?!) parks, thanks for your input.
RA doesn't make the rules for a given park -- those vary by location. The fee is annoying but they save their clients (the various park agencies) from the expense of maintaining stand alone reservation facilities.
Sometimes a phone call works better than the Internet, especially for last minute reservations.

RA is the agent for all reservations in Mississippi State parks. I have used them for years for many reservations and have never had a problem. They keep a log of your reservations and it is very handy to be able to go back and look at which campsite you had (if you liked it) at a particular state park several years later.
