Photos of European Campgrounds

We're cruising down the Rhine River and I thought I would share some photos of the campgrounds and RVs we've seen along the Rhine River. Their campgrounds are really nice and look very well maintained. We've also seen many that are dry camping along the sandy beaches of the Rhine River.

Trip ends tomorrow when we return home after a long flight. But we're looking forward to getting home. Have tons of photos but not related to Airstreams or camping so probably won't post any of those here.

Here's the campground in Caprese Michelangelo, Italy

Another shot.

I didn't pick this one at random, my sister runs it.

We saw this unusual arrangement during our 2006 Rhine cruise.

Guess they must have been concerned about high water.

I've never seen anything like it, but yes, the Rhine River frequently floods. When the snow melts in the alps, a fair bit of that water comes down the Rhine.

Further downstream, in Cologne and Düsseldorf, there are huge flood plains to deal with floods.
