Me and my Monkey
I found a perfect AS travel accessory - a Honda Monkey. It’s the perfect retro camp scooter for the AS and is not much larger than the teeny Trail 50s that you grew up with in the 70s.
The new Monkeys are super quiet and make almost no noise. They top out at 55 mph and really are happiest at 35-45. 4 speed with a clutch shift, and a 125cc motor so you need to have a motorcycle endorsement as they are road legal.
They weigh about 225 lbs and easy to load in the back of my TV. Itty bitty 12 in wheels make it great for riding forest roads or putt into town for a coffee or groceries.

Hey that bike is pretty slick! My brother and I wore out a Honda Trail 70 back in the day.
Should be a lot of fun to ride.

Wonder if I could make a mount to put it behind the rear bumper of my Airstream trailer. A perfect place for it. Just ride it on, strap it down, and away we go. Perfect. Just figured I'd give everyone something to talk about today.

I'll give it a shot too:
Love the scooter! Does anyone make a rack for two of them or do you think I would need to have one fabricated? I can weld a receiver on my trailer's bumper and carry them back there. I'll need to stick the rack out couple feet so I can still access my rear storage. BTW, I don't use weight distribution or sway control, but I'm sure it will tow just fine.

I was just reading about them! Honda introduced three "new" versions of their beloved 125cc. bikes. The Monkey (odd name), the Grom, also odd name but looks like a sport bike, and the Super Cub, just like it looked 50 years ago!
I love them!

Lara Me and Mollysdad thanks for posting. Prefer something like the Monkey over a scooter. Good for near future consideration.

An alternative is a Segway Ninebot. lt will go about 10 miles on a charge, goes about 17 mph down hill and to a walking pace uphill. On a level surface, it will go about 14 mph. It's a great way to get around a city. I park the Airstream where I can find a spot and then just roll up and down all the streets. It's perfect for exploring and for street photography. I also use it locally in Atlanta for runs to Lowes which is just outside my neighborhood about 2 miles away. During traffic hours, it's faster than driving. I also use it to go to the storage company where I keep my Airstream, again, just outside the neighborhood. I can ride it through the neighborhood to a rail/trail and then go under Peachtree St. It's then just a short ride on sidewalks to the storage. It weighs about 25 pounds and folds up. I paid about $300 and got it from Sams. And for those of you who want to go faster, check out the Hollyburn SS from Works Electric.

Weight of even one of those behind the axles and an AS would be problematic. I would love to be able to carry a pair of those, but what is working well for us is an electric "cargo bike" Our Rad Wagon will carry two-up and weighs around 70 pounds, so our rear Fiamma bike rack on our 25 FC can easily handle it. Range with some pedal assist is around 25 miles with a computer limited top speed of 25 mph. No licensing necessary.

Honda 110
Haven't brought the restored 81' Trail 110 on trips yet but would love to
zip around the campgrounds! Don't want to keep it too "exposed" when
away from the site.

I use a front hitch. I could not imagine 200lbs on a trailer hitch and though I can muscle it into the bed of the truck, it is a lot of work and beside the bed has other stuff.

What would 320 lbs on the back of a 25’ FB Safari/FC (a Zero DS electric motorcycle) do to the weight distribution if using a Hensley Arrow hitch (hypothetically [emoji846]).

Me and my Monkey
Very funny you guys! I wondered how anyone could think of hanging a 225lb scooter of their trailer.
Lots of fun options to scoot around. I think an electric Super Cub or eMonkey would be a blast!
Range on the gas powered Monkey is like 150 miles.
I rode out to the local biker bar and a Harley rider ride up and parked next to me, giving the Monkey a once over. He laughed, I laughed. This bike brings out the smiles!
