Maiden Voyage with '67 Globe Trotter a Success!
Our maiden voyage was a success! We headed to the Starlite Classic Campground for the weekend. We had no problems whatsoever! It was amazing! The Globe Trotter was super comfy and everything worked great! It was my first attempt at installing the awning I made, and it actually worked!
I cannot say enough good things about the campground. It is amazing. The owners fix up and rent vintage trailers, and they are so cute! Everybody was very helpful and lots of fun to visit with. The campground was pretty empty, but we enjoyed the solitude. The Canon City, CO tourism has been devastated by the recent forest fires, so the area is pretty quiet. It's really too bad. The Royal Gorge Bridge and amusements are closed because of fire damage, but you can still hike and see the gorge. The train still runs through the gorge and the rafting trips look like loads of fun. We had our 3 dogs with us, so we mainly stayed at the campsite.
We can't wait to take Midge out again! The Starlite is having a "Trailer Trash Bash" in August and we are going to try to attend.
I've posted more pics on my blog (my signature).
I'm so excited to finally be CAMPING!
