Help planning Central FL to Columbus, Ohio I75-I71

Made this trip many times, couple of days to as little as 18hrs, but this time (July) we will be taking g-daughter(10) home, would like to make it a week long interesting trip for her. What are the best sights or attractions without going too far from I75, we will be without a toad, 31 ft MH has to be able to negociate to attraction and it has to have an accomodating parking lot. We usually do state and national parks but this time will look for cg's with swimming pools, kid friendly parks.
Thanks,
Dave

On Lake Alatoona, just a little north of Atlanta, there are numerous Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds. Many waterfront sites, relatively cheap, swimming beaches, nice folks. All the Atlanta sights (Coca-Cola, Stone mountain...) within reasonable distance.

You might think about camping at Stone Mountain as an Atlanta stop - fun activities right there, and close to your path.

Dave,

The Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington is very nice. Just off I75 and has a nice pool and very kid friendly. Check their web site for activities and events. If you don't mind a slight detour to the West go to Elkhorn Campground in Frankfort, Ky. The campground has a pool, is located along the Elkhorn Creek great for canoeing/kayaking. Close to the Kentucky Historical Society museum in downtown Frankfort several nice coffee shops and bookstores. Enjoy the time with your grandaughter!!
