The last times these fuel prices with out of sight the bottom dropped out of everthing else. This is an issue that effects the economic being of the World. The prices will continue to rise regardless of what we do. The oil compaines are not going to turn lose of their profits. Our economy is just starting to make a very slow recovery and now we are looking at climbing fuel prices. Truckers are realing pay the price. Most truck stops around here are charging 20+ cents per gallon more that other stations.

I'm scared of what is going to happen to the economic situration as the prices continue to climb.

^^^ Damage it for sure, once gas hits somewhere close to the $4 a gallon mark the economy starts to take a hit, due to people having to divert money from other uses to pay for fuel. It is a double edged sword, when you have an economy based on consumer consumption and cheap energy.

As we are now on a fixed "retirement" income as of the end of this year, we are looking at fuel prices for our trips. We can and will limit our trips around home. We will now look at taking a few more days to explore areas where we stop, on our way to where ever it is our final distination.
It just takes some rethinking.
