Winter trip
We plan a 10-14 day trip from central Virginia to the panhandle, Destin/Fort Walton Beach, FL in mid to late February if we don't get some freak storm moving up the east coast. Use to camp there when we had our Avion. Lovely sugar sand beaches and clear blue/green water. Will get us out of the "cold" weather in Virginia. Hope to see some of you there or on the way down or back. Have a great winter.

Here We Are in Mesa, AZ...
Lovely, sunny Mesa. Temps in the high 70s.
Had a nice trip over from Albuquerque after freezing temps there last night.

Wow and I thought we had to store our AS far from home.... somehow 22 miles doesn't seem all that far.

How do you all deal with the condensation in colder weather? We finished a delightful two weeks out to and on the Oregon coast in early October but the indoor sweating in the cool rain was a new experience for us. Lots of towels and wiping the baby down.

Dang! We're headed the wrong way right now! Been in southeast Texas for the excellent piney woods rally, then to Florida, now in Mobile, but turning north!
It feels so wrong!
However, it's time to go home for family stuff/holidays, etc. Having thanksgiving in Branson, mo.
After Christmas, We will head south, to Destin, then Jacksonville, Fl to visit more family, Then ultimately home to Sarasota for the winter - or the worst of it anyway!
We actually seem to use our AS even more in winter.

Southwest
We're heading to Austin in early January, then west or south, depending on the weather. We've never seen the southern Texas coast or southern Arizona -- either works!

The humidity primarily comes from showers and our exhale, along with other sources. Basically the only solutions are to ventilate the trailer, or have a dehumidifier in there. If you're camping in humid weather, it's going to be really hard to stay dry without a dehumidifier. It's not as much of a problem in a house because there is more air to work with. It's also not as much of a problem during summer even in humidity, because an air conditioner also removes humidity.

Just got back from Port Townsend, Wa. Great short trip. From Fort Worden you can watch the boat traffic, do good short hikes, tour the old fort and visit the town.
We did have heavy winds- steady at 20 mph and gusts to 40. The airstream did well. Temp in high 30s- to mid 40s. We run a dehumidifier to decrease condensation.
Saw two other airstreams in the park- one leaving when we arrived, and a restored 57 came the next day.

We are camped tonight in Lucy in Jacksonville. We just returned earlier today from a two week solo truck camper trip to Maine and New Hampshire. We will take a quick run home to Santa Rosa Beach for a couple of days, and return to the Lucy here in Jacksonville for Thanksgiving. We will head down to Tampa for our granddaughter's on December 1st. After a quick stop at home, we plan to head over to Biloxi in Lucy for a few days. Then it's back to Jacksonville for Christmas. In January, we are planning a Peninsula exploration trip.

We're going back to New Orleans, and then over to Florida for a few weeks just after Christmas. In NOLA we'll be staying at Bayou Segnette State Park again, and we have no idea where we'll be staying in Florida yet because we will just be wandering around, as usual.

Might try to visit Branson the week before Christmas. Or Big Bend NP the first week of January. Or both.

We leave Minnesota right before New Years for Venice, Florida. We'll stay there until early April, then head towards home with stops at St. George Island State Park and Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. We'll make stops in Mississippi and Missouri to judge BBQ competitions. We can hardly wait!

Can you recommend some state parks in FL that you like?

Considering a Florida trip normally I go to Charleston SC but it's not warm enough for me these days. I like being on the water or real close.
Many thanks,

We will head for Bonita Springs, FL in late Dec. That is about 2 1/2 hours south of Tampa. We are 5 mi. from the beach and have plenty of other areas where we can ride bikes. When the tide is right, we even haul the bikes a ways and ride the last few miles on the beach to Fort Myers and Times Square (I think). Lots of eating joints and shopping areas right at the beach. Lots of things to do nearby - flea markets, seafood markets and restaurants, malls, etc.

We are leaving Boca Raton, Fl for Pensicola today and will begin a slow return to Denver with a short stopover in Arlington, Tx.
Will probably winterize in Texas before heading north.

State Parks in Florida?
We love Oscar Scherer State Park in Osprey, just south of Sarasota, Anastasia State Park near St. Augustine and St. George Island on the panhandle.

We Love Mesa, AZ
We will leave the Airstream here all winter as our cold weather respite destination. That's an orange tree. In the bottom photo, Picacho Peak looms above the site of the Four Corners, New Years Rally.
