Airstream cross country trip.

Hi, I'm curious about how many forum members have taken their Airstream on a cross country trip. I have taken my Airstream from a West Coast State to several East Coast States. Oregon to Maine, down to South Carolina, and back home. Wonderful trip.

Yesterday was my one-year anniversary on the road with my Airstream, just having completed a cross-country, 22-state, 8,000 mile journey. Getting ready to do it again. And again. And again.

I've taken all my trailers across country and everywhere in between. First a popup, then a 22' prowler, then the AS. On a west trip now. Living in the "middle" of the country does provide the benefit of more readily access to a lot of places in less time. But we are retired now. This is the first longer trip since we have had no deadlines. Poking along 2 lane roads......250 miles a day and stopping for....whatever, whenever.

As the map by my screen name shows , we’ve covered from Key west to Alaska and parts in between. The parts we have yet to hit is the far Northeast. At 80 yrs old , I don’t know how much longer I will feel comfortable pulling my trailer , but that being said I’m not ready to quit yet.

I'm on my third 25' Safari now. I took both of my other Airstreams coast to coast and back. I certainly plan on doing the same with this one.

We have taken our Airstreams across the country a number of times. That includes Southern Cal, Washington State, Maine, and Florida, (with many wonderful places along the way) we live in Texas. Have not made it to the Keys yet but that is in the plans.

The Airstream(s) have been so much more than either of us ever imagined!

In 2016 we did Florida to San Francisco. In 2017 Venice, Florida to Las Vegas twice (family there). 2018 again from Fl to Vegas and this past spring we made our 5th AS trip cross Country to Vegas. We've also done numerous trips north as far as the Adirondack Mountains in upper NY State.

We are in our fourteenth year of Airstreaming. Last night was our 1,979th night of Airstream camping. We have towed our Airstream 180,054 miles, and have been in all of the lower 48 States and much of Canada.

I am writing this from Edmonton, Alberta. We are on our way to Alaska.

Airstream cross country trip.

Cross country trips "check"! We've only owned our Airstream since 2014 but since we both retired end of 2014, we've made 5 cross country trips, another to Canadian Maritimes, 2 trips to Florida, 3 to coastal Carolinas, several to Cape Henlopen, DE and several to New England and Adirondacks in NY. Although we enjoyed all of our travels, we finally settled on the west to relocate having just purchased a home in western Nevada near Lake Tahoe only three weeks ago!
Left our Airstream at the new property and hope to make the move there before another east coast winter. We fell in love with the west and look forward to revisiting our favorite National Parks frequently without traveling 2500+ miles to get there. We'll be within 250 miles of many of our favorite places and hope to finally travel to Canadian Rockies. Although we enjoyed 3-6 months of travel per year with summer trips lasting 3-4 months, we will likely travel differently since we're moving to an area we will enjoy living with snow capped Sierra Mtns. in our back yard and the most beautiful alpine lake only 20 miles away! We are also looking forward to meeting Airstreamers of the West!

You didn't specify which country!

We've taken our Airstreams from PEI to BC and Yukon in Canada and as far as Southern California, Maine and Key West in America.

My wife and I left Akron OH this morning headed to Dillon CO. Other than our GFI circuit going down, so far so good. Hope to head to Seattle and Portland in the future.

Yes! San Diego, zig zagged all the way across to Rhode Island, then north all the way to Red Bay, Labrador, then zig zagged back across parts of Canada and the US. Took 4 months. Spectacular trip!

We take our Airstream "cross-country" every summer. We live in Maryland, but love the Four Corners region of the U.S. We always stop first in Colorado to visit relatives, then head further west. We leave in less than 2 weeks to spend a month in CO, UT, NV, CA and WY, mostly UT and NV.

Just returned from a 2 1/2 months, 8300 mile trip from SC to CA. So very many wonderful sites to visit from east to west and back. Took our time spending weeks w family and friends visiting and touring. Made only a couple reservations where needed, found no need to plan every minute. Mostly planned as we traveled, leaving plenty room to stay longer or not as we desired. A wonderful trip.
