woven wood blind in living room MH 310 1984

Our 20 year old blinds are wearing out. Airstream says they are not made any more, the company went out of business 8 years ago. We have tried a mini-slat-blind but it hangs out from wall too much. Original blinds were guided in the curved wall by track guides. Any suggestions or solutions?

Others have used mini aluminum blinds custom made through home depot or sopmewhere,, but the neatest best looking window treatment I have seen lately is the day-night shade set up. Two of our recent rally members had theese in their 310 and they were super nice. They ride on a sort of wire that is attached at the top and bottom and really do a good job, as you can see through the day shades to the outside, and you get privacy when the night part is drawn.

They seem a bit pricey, but as you probably won't replace them for a lont time to come, they would be a good investment. I understand Lowe's has these, as well as Camping World and others.

The day/nite shades are the way to go. We had the woven wood blinds in our 325 and they were getting elderly. We looked at a variety of options, but ultimately sold the coach before we did anything. Our 34' came with the day/nite shades, and I love 'em! They're easy to install and work really well. They're worth the investment!

I've been thinking about installing the day/night shades but wondered about air movement especially at night. Do they affect it significantly?

I carefully removed the plastic track guides, ordered new wooven woods and reinstalled the guides for original looks and functionality.

Interesting though, John... probably so... but we have regular mini-blinds in the bedroom that are stock from the factory, probably for that very reason!

That is the best option although I do like the look of the Day/Nite shades. Keeping close to the original, I think is a good goal. How did you reattach the guides? Hot melt glue? We tried that on our old trailer and the hot sun remelted it.-Jan asks; where did you order your shades? We're new to this site- its great but we sure are dummies-- spend too much time trying to access it - finally learned to write our first problem-- # 2- need info on the best replacement radio/cd insert for the MH- Am I dreaming when I want a unit that will play during NW mountains or deserts? It's called clear Plastic and Emblem Adhesive by 3M, available in many auto parts stores. It will not melt in the summer.
The blinds, I custom ordered from Levolour via Home Depot.

have you looked for the clips. i have a couple that broke.
and some of my clips came unglued i used epoxy, the clips are still glued but the piece that rides in the track broke. not a problem now but if any more break i will have a problem.
i also loked at the day/nite shades and they would work ok. as alan said not cheap.

Al, as far as I know they are NLA, except for some old stock may be.
Placement of those clips is crucial, it determines the fold.
Mine had originally 3 on each side. I reduced it to 2 and still get a good fold when they pull up. Doing that left me with a few spares for future replacement.(Sorry, they are not up for bids )

just thought you might have come across some. i have two that are sol . same fold so every thing is still working OK. like i said i epoxy ed mine to the blinds and i don't think i could scavenger two from the other blind. next time i visit sonny that will be on my list. i would bet he has some and doesn't have a part no for the item. but will know which bin they are in. i have got some nla from him and they were in the don't know what they are bin.

We have two missing guides and three of the existing guides have the little slide buttons broken. I will try to make some replacements, if successful I will offer some in this thread in the near future. Thank you for the name of the glue, will look for it on the way home from golf tomorrow-----even if I have a bad game, any day playing golf is wonderful.

Al &Sue, I just made some of the little slide buttons using some 3/8 dia nylon rod on a drill press with 24t hacksaw blades. Probably will not have time to make any before leaving for Internatiional Rally at Lansing. I will try to make some after we return to put into stock for anyone who needs them. They do not look as pretty as the molded ones but they work. Also the little drapery "T" guides that Andy has in stock will fit the wall guides if you can figure how to mount them.

I used extra slides from the curtain tracks, they ar able to be popped into the blinds track without removing anything. I attached them to the sides of my woven woods with a small peice of elastic that is glued to the end caps on the blinds. Have held up so far- two years in the sun.

It isn't hard to make roman shades. I am wondering if the slider clips could be attached to these and have them work like the woven wood blinds do. Any comments?
