Red face 73 Argosy 26 Drapes

Well recently i posted about my argosy cushions, and i had a lot of help from everyone on here!! Thanks so much. Now i have a new issue, i need new drapes, and there is currently none in my argosy, and my mother in law is going to sew new ones for us and i was wondering if anyone would have an idea of the sizes?? My biggest problem is that i still do not have my argosy at my house, it is 2 hours away, so measuring is a HUGE problem! Hopefully someone can help only if it is measurements for the front window over the Gaucho. Thanks so much!

Hello LDNoPan ... interesting screen name if I can make absolutely no sense of it... that's a win for you! I hope you are feeling welcome at the best place on the net for Airstream/Argosy questions.

The drapes we chose for our Argosy, though relatively expensive, were from J.P. Ambruso company out of Florida. Their quality is top notch and way above the relatively flimsy curtains on my new Safari. I can't imagine the latter lasting much beyond 10 years. Ambruso drapes feel strong and have an outer fabric that will help prevent solar/heat deterioration of the interior fabric. Without obligation to buy, they send you fabric samples and instructions how to measure. They know their business and sent back drapes that were problem-free on installation. There is much discussion on the forums about this topic. I am sure you will find your way to multiple ideas if you just use Ambruso as your search term -- much more than Ambruso will be discussed.

Best wishes -- and keep coming around, okay?

I second Canoe Streams advice! Ambruso will make curtains based on the model year - and they do a great job. You must make certain that you still have the mounting rails in place - your curtains should come with mounting tabs and little elastic bits that were orginal....

Well fitting curtains are a hassle to make - although all the hardware bits are still available. Good luck.
