Rivet sizes

Okay new guy (me) is going to loosen and/or remove interior lower panels to access c-channel----Did I read somewhere to use a 1/8th inch drill and buy a 10 pack. Also what size rivet goes back in? 1980 Excella II 31'--
Also the c-channel at the 4 radiuses does not have a bottom shelf to the channel(so it's not a c-channel in those areas) 1/2" plywood has come loose from the so called c-channel in the gaucho arms and rear twin bed areas. So much for monocoque! And do we really need insulation under the floor ?

Thanks, Bud & Nan -bought AS last weekend--oh boy we're having fun now!

The correct drill bit sizes for all Airstream work are, #30, #21 and #11.

#30 is used to remove the interior pop rivets and the exterior buck rivets.

#21 is used for Olympic rivets. Drilling buck rivets with a #30 first and then enlarging the hole with a #21 drill bit, is as near perfect as you can get.

#11 is used for 3/16 pop rivets that should be in the underbelly.

#45 or #48 white pop rivets are used in the interior.

If you can't find the numbered bits above. You will probably find 1/8' bit is just a hair small. If it works great. If not use a 9/32"
