Rebuild photos of late 70's credenzas?
I have a 1979 31' center bath trailer and the long tambour door on my living room credenza is self destructing. The cost of new tamour material to replace it is so high and I don't like the stuff anyway so I am considering rebuilding the credenza.
My plan is to retain the original credenza top and fold down table, but remove the framing and tracks in the tambour door portion and replace that with a custom built cabinet base with conventional doors.
If anyone has done a simlar project, please share some photos. While I already have the basic plan in mind I always like to see what others have done and maybe get some other ideas.

Most impressive. I had inteded to use flat doors, but after seeing yours with the inset panel, I am thinking otherwise.
It looks like you made a new top from scratch and did away with the drop-down table. Care to comment on why? I plan to keep my table but if there seemed to be an advantage to not re-using the top I'm all ears.

Actually that Airstream belongs to Airstream of Arkansas and Airhog1 posted those photos during the construction process. They were built by a cabinetmaker in Searcy, AR. I have been searching for some photos of the completed interior. It really came out nice!!!
