Cabinet catch - in white?
I'm looking for one of these in white / beige.
Ideally, I'd like to find one for less than SIXTEEN dollars plus shipping, too!
Any ideas?
Thanks!

The white ones haven't been around for a long long time.
If you really, really want them in white, you can get a can of Krylon fusion and paint the brown ones.

Parts that are 30 to 40 years old, will never be cheap, as they were when the coach was new.

Andy,
You are correct! And that's even if you can find repro's to boot. If it was a classic car latch off a odd year car, double that price and say "Thanks for the great deal". If it was N.O.S., give the guy $100.00 and be glad you found it.
Enjoy,

I definitely recommend using a spraypaint that's formulated for plastic. I painted the latches on my '75 Argosy (they were originally brown, and I repainted them brown). I used Valspar I think, but the point is that the paint be formulated specifically for plastic, and the results are pretty good.
I would point out that there'd be more work involved in getting a good result in painting it white, because there are nooks and crannies involved that would show up more starkly when changing the color than when touching up a faded old one of the same color.

What DKB_SATX says, is very true. I use Krylon Fusion paint for plastics, available at Wal Mart and it works very well. Use a number of thin coats. You may have to devise a way to hold the handle out to cover the brown up in all the nooks and crannies, but the results wil be what you want.
BTW, $16 in 2012 is the same as $2.90 in 1972 when these were used. See: CPI Inflation Calculator for a fun way to look at how the value of money has changed over the years.

I think I've got a couple coming in the mail, but if you have extras you're willing to part with, the other latches are all the same age.
