I'd like to replace the fixed 30Amp shoreline AC cable in our '71 Safari with a removable cable and receptacle on the side of our Safari. Any recommendations or cautions before I do this? I'm thinking of using this connector on the outside of the trailer: Marinco 30A Stainless Inlet
Thanks!

I've used this connector (the non-stainless version) on 2 SOB trailers. Works very well, and closes off one more mouse entrance hole. I simply cut off the fixed cord, wired in the new receptacle, and then wired the twist-lock plug on the end of the cord. Only thing you need to decide is where to mount the receptacle on your AS. And don’t forget to seal the opening well when you attach the receptacle.
pickerdd,
Rod, at C & G trailer in Bellflower, Ca., installed 2 30 amp recepticles, one on the front and one on the rear of my 30' classic. I carry 2 15' cords which are ez to use from whichever power post is closest. Looks neat and very convenient ! I think it's a winner, go for it !
