getting shocked

I just bought a 78 ambassador and I have been cleaning it up, but every time I touch the trailer around the refrigerator door on the outside or the parts inside I get shocked, where should I start looking for my short. All the light and all the electrical works. The polarity light is on all the time.

Get someone qualified to look at it.

I used to give electrical troubleshooting advice on the forums. After some close calls I stopped.

We had a similar effect one time. It turned out to be the plug itself, which had split internally. Nothing like a little juice feeding right through the ground.

First off, unplug the trailer right now. Buy a tester. You plug it in an outlet and it will tell you if you have reversed polarity, no ground, all okay, etc. Plug it into the outlet where you have the trailer plugged in. See what it says. Plug it into an outlet in the trailer and see what it says. This is a $5 item at any hardware store. Use it to test outlets at campgrounds as well. I also have a '78 ambassador so let me know if you have questions. Welcome to the forums.

There's a tester that works with the power off? Mine need the power on to test.

Eastern South Dakota is very pretty with hills, rivers, and trees.

The reverse polarity can be an outlet that's not wired correctly, or a bad extension cord, or the trailer is not wired correctly.
