Thank you - pulled the trigger and finally got our 25' Flying Cloud
We did it!! As my wife and I wrap up our careers in mid 2020 we now have our dream AirStream!!
Because of you (everyone on this forum) we were able to make a good decision with knowledge of what to get and what to expect from this purchase/lifestyle. 36 month of reading the forums and learning from each of you, thank you!
Now to begin building our checklist to make sure we don't screw up too often...
Appreciate any advice and if you have a checklist of the dos and donts, must haves and leave behind etc.... please point me in the right directions.
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone and glad to become a part of the community and hope I can give back as much as you have given me!
Mike
aka The OctoGent (and not I am not 80)

Congratulations! I love my 25’ and certainly think you made a good choice. The only Airstream you can look out the window in bed without awkwardly turning around

Congrats and welcome to the AS family!
Our first was a used 25’ - loved it. Traded for new 28’ when we retired early and love that too. You'll have lots of great adventures.
Have fun and be SAFE!

Hi OctoGent, welcome to the Airstream community!
We have a similar 2020 retirement plan and can’t wait to be un-tethered from the daily grind. We did get a few trips in this year and typically over-packed. We kept a list of things we forgot to bring and took inventory of things we didn’t use and can be left at home. Most things can be picked up along the way so don’t sweat it too much.
You can practice hooking up at home and Airstream has an app with checklists for departure and arrival items. I organized gear in the outside storage compartments by task so all the sewer gear is on the road side. Leveling and stabilizer gear is in the curb side. Power cord, EMS, fresh water hose and chocks go in the front compartment. Spare blocks of wood go in the bumper compartment.
You’ll figure out what works best after a few runs. There’s no wrong way, just some better than others!
Happy camping!
Jeff & Caryle
