New guy in Missouri
I will retire soon and have decided to get a jomp on things by getting an Airstream now. I have never owned a camping trailer and would be delighted to hear what everyone else already knows.

Dennis, welcome to the forum. There are a few of us in the St. Louis area who are on the forums so we would be happy to talk with you on the forum, by phone or in person. What part of the metro area are you at?

Welcome to the forums, Dennis. We are always glad to see another Missourian joining the Airstream forum family. You'll find an overwhelming amount of information about the trailers, motorhomes, and camping here if you use the search button at the top of the page. Be sure to ask all your questions because we have some very well informed and experienced 'streamers here who are generous sharing their expertise. Also, you may enjoy checking into our Classifieds, also found at the top of this page. These are offerings from forums members which is reassuring. Who knows, you might find your Airstream dream listed right here! Another idea: check out the Moraine View Midwest Forums Rally scheduled for early June and attended by others from Missouri as well as sister midwest states. If you don't have an Airstream yet, you may enjoy visiting all the trailers. ~G

Welcome from about 4 hours South of you. Whenever you get an Airstream you can come down this way, there's several campgrounds near the 11 point river.

Hello to another Dennis in Missouri. I am located about 4 hours west of you in Springfield. Hope to see you on the road or in one of the many beautiful campgrounds in our state. I'll be watching.

Welcome to the Forums. Read on; you'll find a lot of really good information about Airstreams here. Educate yourself here before you start to shop.

Welcome Dennis!
J. Canavera is right, many of us will help you with whatever we can. I'm from St. Charles County, but I am living 5 days a week in Fort Leonard Wood, MO.
I assume you are looking at Bill THomas Campers not too far from me....make sure Glenn gives you a great deal!

Been using wife's sign on since we got our AS. She asked me why I didn't just sign on in my own name.
I registered and found out someone else was already using the screen name I wanted. I signed on using the screen name and a password that I used to use all the time.
It was me! I had joined this forum way back in March, 2006, before we even got a trailer.
Now I got a screen name and so does my wife. And we got an Airstream!

Jim & Regina,
I recently transfered my "at large" membership to the Missouri Greater Ozark Unit. They sent me a copy of the unit's newsletter, and saw where you were also considering joining. Hope it works out. Haven't been to any of the unit's rally's yet but, based on phone conversations I've had with various members, it seems like a really nice group. Be sure to take a look at Soldiermedic's Branson rally the second weekend in October down at Compton Ridge Campground (North Camp). I think this will be a hoot!!!!!!!

Welcome to the forums, neighbor. Would be great to meet you and other AS owners/forum members at an STL Forums Rally. We'll have to get on that one, maybe for Big Muddy Blues Festival.
We could possibly rally at the Casino Queen (gamble if you like), take the Metro (L) over to the Landing for the Blues Fest, visit the Gateway Arch, (Have JC give a tour of his weekday stompin' grounds), ...for now there's the Moraine View Midwest Rally in early June though.
I think JC did a Route 66 rally w/ the STL WBCCI unit last year or the year before (???).
