Hi! I'm Cleveland
Brand new member. Hoping to get some good info on my 28 foot Safari LS that I just purchased.
MY first screw up I locked myself out of the RV with the keys inside. Didn't know about the inside locking latch that must have gotten pushed before I closed the door.
Is there anyway to get into the RV without calling a locksmith, which woud be very expenside in this area. Can I get a new key made from the company with my VIN number? Can I take the door off the hinge? Or maybe remove a window?
Help would be appreciated

Hi, howdy, and welcome to the Forums, Ed!
We're glad to have you hear and thankfully nobody was hurt in your little excitement with the door!
We'd love to see any photos you have of your new-to-you trailer, so blast away!
ps: you don't have to take off a window... Hint: look at how the window locks work

Hi Cleveland: Welcome from WA.
If all else fails you can unscrew your Sky Light on the roof and drop in like Santa.
In my case I have the small windows and the only other way in would be if you can get in the escape window.
I also locked my self out once but I'd left the little window next to the door open enough for me to pry the screen open (with out damaging it) and reached in to unlock.
Good luck and send us some pictures

PS: Since you just got your LS, it'd be a good idea to go on the roof anyway and check all the seals and caulking.....leaks are best caught right away.

Ed, reach out to "Inland Andy" with an email or PM.
I believe that he may be helpful with your situation.
In the meantime, Merry Christmas!

Welcome and WARNING: DON'T TRY TO TAKE OUT THE BOLTS FOR THE HINGES! They were put on before the inner skins, the only thing holding the hidden nuts in place is the bolts.
Is your trailer home/storage or are you on the road?

I have heard this story from many Airstreamers. Once you get in, make some extra keys and hide them somewhere outside.
Good Luck.

Call me Wednesday at 800-8777311 and I will tell you how to get in the trailer, with no damages, or crawling through holes.
I will not post it, since thieves would also learn how.
Also, we have a lock out kit that is "free".
Just send us a SASE with 2 stamps on it and we will send you that kit.

Just so you know, it wasn't you that locked you out...it was the door lock mechanism itself. Andy's fix works...we used it, and no problems since.
