Footitis strikes again!
We've had a 1999 Airstream 25' Safari 6 sleeper for 7 years now and traveled from the Canadian Arctic to see polar bears down to the Panama Canal and east to the Statue of Liberty plus all over Mexico. Back 2 weeks from a 9 week Mexico trip and decided it's getting too small inside and want around 30' Excella from 1985-95. Yesterday we found it and bought it and pick it up tomorrow! Has everything we wanted except has twins instead of a queen but it has the front sofa and a dinette and is in remarkable condition in and out! Anyone have suggestions for converting the twins to a queen? A bit complicated by the great oak cabinets outboard on both sides over the twins but minor, I hope. See you all at WBCCI International Rally in Salem in June!

Welcome,
I can't help you on the conversion,
but congrats on the new rig. Sounds as if you're having tons of fun Airstreaming
Will you be keeping both rigs?

Does your new coach have rear, or center, beds?
Raer beds are easy, just remove the nightstand, and extend the bedframe out to accomodate the queen mattress.

Yes - that is what we did and the only thing we are looking at next is a king-sized memory foam mattress. It is a very comfortable arrangement, and I really like the outside storage. We don't miss the under-bed storage, either.
Congrats!

Congrats on the new coach and hi!. I, myself, know nothing about converting your bunks. Having said that I am GIDDY with excitment about your wandering. Now that you have thown your wanderings out there, is it not your duty to start a thread discribing them ? Oh yeah, the more pics the better .

Hi and welcome to the foums, sounds like you have had some great addventures with your Airstream, like gen disarray said, tells us more about some of your addventures and lots off pictures, we like pictures. If you have center twins, then check this link out, it is a long topic but after you find the info and pictures of the bed modification I think you will like his idea, I know that I do and will be doing the same to mine..

I hope balgrn isn't tired of me referring people to him; however, he did a wonderful job of converting his twins to a queen bed in his 25ft Tradewinds. He has a website that shows the conversion too. PM him here on the forum for more information. I get lots of hints from him. Judy
