Greetings from Richmond KY everyone,
I just discovered this forum and decided, after a week or two, it was time to stop lurking and say “hi”. My wife and I own a 71 Safari. We have used it once in three years but plan to get serious with it this summer. Work permitting. We moved into Kentucky after living in South Louisiana for 15 years. We have seen one other AS in the area, hopefully we will find more Airstreamers the longer we live here. Especially ones that that are willing to share knowledge on restoration!

Hi and welcome! Lurk no more. Posing questions, getting info, making friends, and exploring all things Airstream is lots more fun than staying in the shadows. You'll find lots of restoration help here from members and also by using the search feature at the top bar ~G

Welcome Herb....
How about you get that '71 roadworthy, if it isn't already, and come meet us all here in early June. It's about 350 miles from you:

As of now, I think we have 22 or 23 sites accounted for, be great to add you to the list!

Welcome to the Forums. My son and daughter in law live down the road in Berea, at least until she graduates in May. I have been serching for other Forum Folks from Kentucky for most of the winter. There are a few of us, but the number has grown in the last couple of weeks. I think we may end up with a group after all is said and done. I live in the other end of the state near Marion in Crittenden County. I am in the process of redoing a 51 Flying Cloud. Still just an aluminum tent on wheels right now, but I am getting closer to my rebuild every day.

thanks!
Thanks for all the feedback!
CaptainJones, I work at EKU, if your kids are going there and hits any academic snags, let me know.
Scf31, Winchester is just one exit up from me, my wife and I have eaten at the ken-tuk-ee inn (I know, I butchered the spelling) many times. I love the chicken.
We are still working on our AS as time permits it will roll and we have spent a night in it. Since we are also doing a total restoration of our house it is slow going. Right now, I can’t get the electric to juice up in the AS. I will go through the site tutorials soon.
jamesardis Your safari looks a lot like ours only a lot more shiny! Polishing ours is in the plans – hopfully we will have enough courage to begin that one!
Chaplain Kent I have a Cummins first gen turbo diesel – 5 speed getrag and 4WD – it’s a noisy bear!
Everyone, thanks for making a stranger feel at home.
