Ok.. checklist.. sigh.. water bottles, new honda 12000 generator pair.. OMG.. Wires, tubes, hoses, pop tarts, rear view mirror extensions.. HOLY C*** this got expensive fast. I think I have everything packed, if not there are stores on the way.. I think my head about popped off. I leave for her maiden voyage tomorow, oh, it's tomorrow already, I better get sleep.. Wish me luck guys, and if you see a bewildered skinny bald guy on the side of the road scratching his head on the way to Yellowstone next to an Airstream PLEASE STOP, it means I screwed something up..

TBRich (post #18) mentioned Oasis RV Center in Tucson. I've found them to be very professional and helpful, in addition to having a great parts dept. geared to the "do-it-yourselfer."

If you're on your way to Yellowstone, you need a copy of 'THE LONG LONG TRAILER'. This movie will explain all things not to do.Carry on. Richie Rich.

Wheew.. I'm back.. OMG this was a long trip. Almost 3,000 miles.. The Airstream drove like a dream. I hit Mt Rushmore, Yellowstone, Arches national park and grand canyon. I found some things on "Toastmaster" The name of my airstream that I want to change. The water heater. There has to be one out there that allows more than a 20 second shower. The heater was tolerable, but 60-90 degrees in 30 seconds was a bit much. Also the door latch was a problem the entire trip. you have to SLAM the door to get it to latch correctly. I did have a small scratch on her, i got too close to a tree on the road going to the Grand Canyon. Other than that, I am hooked. I'm planning trips left and right. I honestly don't know how I lived without an airstream all this time. Luckily I own a company where I can work anywhere I want to as long as I have an internet connection, so I'm getting satellite internet installed on her, so I'll be on the road ALOT, and I cant wait!.
I was disappointed that I only saw 4 other Airstreams :-( but the fellow Airstreamers I met were out of this world nice.
Happy Camper,
Mario
