Trailer Plug Wiring

I am on the road for a few months with my 2010 classic 27FB. The trailer plug on the trailer side has one pole totally corroded away. It is the pole responsible for charging the batteries while driving.

I have a new plug, but before I cut the old one off, does anyone have a wire color chart for this? It would save me a lot of trial and error.

I finally found civilization, Walmart and the internet. I bought a new plug for the trailer and started cutting up the old one. I found the green, yellow, brown and white wires I am used to, but there was also Black, red, and light blue. There was a handy hot wire (Black) right there, so I decided to test the other colors to see if they came out like I expected. They did not.

The PDF file you provided a link to looked right to me, but it had NOTHING TO DO with how the Airstream plug was wired.

Brown has always been running lights. It turned out to be the Right turn signal.
Green is usually the right turn signal. It turned out to be the running lights.
Yellow is usually the left turn signal. It turned out to be the Back Up Lights.
White is usually ground and it turned out to be the ground.
Black was the hot wire.
Light Blue was the breaks.
Red was the left turn signal.

It all works now. Ain’t standardization great!

When I replaced my old plug I cut it leaving enough of the cable so I could open it up and using a meter have a Way It Was reference, later permanently marked the outside with a letter color code matching the wire color.

Glad you got it done. I have had to do that 3 times while on the road. In either a Wal-Mart or Ace hardware parking lot. Once from corrision. Twice from dragging. Finally fixed it so it works right. I do carry a owner's manual with a corrected plug diagrahm.

Could you please clarify what you mean by "finally fixed it so it works right"?

One thing you should remember is that most of the wiring diagrams you will see show what the connections are from the back end of the plug, not the end inserted into the TV.

My TV factory plug does not always lock the plug in. I do not want to mess with the factory harness to change it. So I have the trailer wire mounted so there is plenty of slack for turns and yet it cannot drag if it comes loose. And I run with the trailer lights on to keep a check.
